Grunge Design Museum Tidbits

The poster seen above is supposed to mimic the feel and design of David's Carson's Ray Gun magazine. I even featured the man himself on the poster, David Carson. Needless to say, my professor wasn't too enthusiastic on the selection of the "poster child." However, he did state that the poster did invoke the feel of the magazine to a certain degree.
This was the invitation that would be sent in the mail encouraging people to visit the museum. It also incorporates elements of the Ray Gun magazine, legibility was a huge personal concern for me. I was advised by my fellow classmates and professor that the legibility shouldn't be a pressing concern. I beg to differ, if you received this in the mail, you would be intrigued but it still needs to communicate the information it's presenting.
Here are some appetizers from a project that I wasn't particularly fond of in both design and theme. The project was entitled the "Design Museum," take a particular design and construct a museum entirely dedicated to it. I chose the word "grunge" which encapsulated the entire landscape of the 1990s. The projected consisted of a brochure, a website, invitation, poster and other physical items to entice people to visit the museum. The only two I was remotely satisfied with were the poster and the invitation!
